School Counselor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of students. This position involves working closely with students, parents, and faculty to create a nurturing environment that fosters personal growth and academic success. The School Counselor will provide guidance and support in various areas including behavior management, special education needs, and overall childhood development.

Duties
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address personal, social, and academic issues.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies for student success.
- Assist in the identification of students with special educational needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior in the school environment.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student needs and progress.
- Offer academic advising to help students set educational goals and develop plans for achieving them.
- Provide resources and referrals for behavioral health services when necessary.
- Engage in Christian counseling practices as appropriate within the school setting.
- Stay informed about child welfare policies and collaborate with child protective services when necessary.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or Social Work.
- Certification or licensure as a school counselor or equivalent credentials.
- Experience in childcare or working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavioral health practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Familiarity with special education regulations and resources available for students with disabilities.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive environment that aligns with the values of the school community.

Pay: $53,400.00 - $60,000.00 per year
