Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. Duties
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address personal, social, and academic issues.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies for student success.
- Assist in the identification of students with special educational needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior in the school environment.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student needs and progress.
- Offer academic advising to help students set educational goals and develop plans for achieving them.
- Provide resources and referrals for behavioral health services when necessary.
- Engage in Christian counseling practices as appropriate within the school setting.
- Stay informed about child welfare policies and collaborate with child protective services when necessary.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or Social Work.
- Certification or licensure as a school counselor or equivalent credentials.
- Experience in childcare or working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavioral health practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Familiarity with special education regulations and resources available for students with disabilities.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
