Position Summary:
The Prior Authorization Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive timely access to ABA therapy services. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the prior authorization process, from initial submission to approval, for insurance coverage of ABA therapy sessions. Your meticulous attention to detail and ability to navigate complex insurance policies will contribute significantly to the seamless delivery of services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and submit prior authorization request for ABA therapy services to various insurance companies
- Track the status of submitted authorizations, conducting follow-ups as necessary to ensure timely approval.
- Communicate effectively with insurance representatives to resolve any issues or discrepancies during the authorization process.
- Collaborate with Center Managers and Clinical Staff to gather required documentation and information for prior authorization submissions.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all authorization activities in the company’s database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Educate and assist families in understanding their insurance benefits and the authorization process.
- Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and regulations that may affect client coverage.
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on authorization statuses and challenges.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in prior authorization, healthcare administration, or a related field. ABA experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare insurance, including understanding of medical coding and billing practices.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on clear and empathetic communication with families and insurance representatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Central Reach experience is a plus.
- A commitment to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 per hour
