What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Paint Technician position at Academy Express?
Academy Bus, is seeking a full time Auto Body Repair and Paint Technician, skilled in auto body repair, paint preparation, color matching, blending, and vehicle surface refinishing. This role is based out of our *NEW* facility in Winter Garden, FL.
Core Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong customer relations
- Perform paint repairs, restoration, and refinishing to company standards
- Replace interior and exterior panels.
- Replace glass and windshields.
- Repair panels and remove dents to refurbish damaged bus exteriors.
- Needs to have knowledge of body repair materials.
- Paint panels to match using proper paint codes
- Assist in assessment of vehicles
- Maintain inventory of replacement panels
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of fiberglass
- Knowledge of Bondo application
- Knowledge of paint preparation
- Knowledge of paint computer match is a plus
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of automotive paint experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto body repair
- Degree in auto body plus but not required
- Valid driver’s license with safe driving record
- Professional demeanor
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work independently
- General computer skills
