Job Description: High School Yoga/Physical Education Teacher
POSITION DESCRIPTION: ACE is seeking a certified physical education teacher who has experience teaching Yoga to students in grades 9 - 12.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Hold a valid GaPSC in Physical Education
- Recognized Yoga teacher certification or relevant experience teaching yoga is preferred
- Good communication skills with students, colleagues and parent.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a comprehensive yoga curriculum that aligns with school goals and student needs
- Guide students through various yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices.
- Create and implement engaging and age-appropriate yoga lessons.
- Adapt yoga sequences to suit different skill levels and needs.
- Ensure proper alignment and technique in yoga poses.
- Encourage student participation and create a positive learning environment.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate various yoga styles and techniques.
- Assess student progress and adjust the curriculum accordingly.
- Maintain the necessary records of student progress toward academic goals; meet deadlines for submitting data to other departments.
- Coach two seasonal sports per school year.
- Model daily strong and effective written and verbal skills
- Work with grade level and content colleagues in vertical and horizontal teams implementing the program designed with fidelity.
- Maintain a productive, safe and disciplined learning environment for all students with a focus on achievement for all.
- Must implement and support school-wide policies.
- Monitor behavior patterns and utilize interventions as needed.
- Communicate with parents on students' progress.
- Assess student progress routinely.
