Job Description: Jr. High School English Teacher
POSITION DESCRIPTION: ACE is seeking a certified English teacher who has experience working with students in grades 6 - 8. Gifted endorsement preferred; Reading endorsement preferred.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Hold a valid GaPSC in English Education
- Successful classroom teaching experience 3-5 years
- Good communication skills with students, colleagues and parent.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop purposeful, rigorous, and engaging daily and long-term plans aligned to standards, and regularly revisit these materials to update as needed.
- Instruct students on a daily basis utilizing the English/Reading curriculum of ACE.
- Create, administer, and analyze meaningful and frequent assessments from which reteaches are planned.
- Maintain the necessary records of student progress toward academic goals; meet deadlines for submitting data to other departments.
- Model daily strong and effective written and verbal skills
- Work with grade level and content colleagues in vertical and horizontal teams implementing the program designed with fidelity.
- Maintain a productive, safe and disciplined learning environment for all students with a focus on achievement for all.
- Must implement and support school-wide policies.
- Monitor behavior patterns and utilize interventions as needed.
- Communicate with parents on students' progress.
- Assess student progress routinely.
