Family-Child Care Specialist
Description:
Service Provider will provide behavior aide, transportation and supervised visit services to children/youth in foster care that have disrupted placement or need behavior modification/therapeutic support due to behavior issues and/or to prevent placement disruption. Most often intervention or assignment will be provided in a foster home, group home, emergency shelter, or local hotel.
Expectations:
Service Providers assigned to behavior aide cases should do so with the expectation that the children/youth in care often have special needs and/or diagnosis that may require the use of de-escalation techniques, close supervision, redirection, or counseling. Please keep this in mind when accepting behavior aide assignments.
It is also common that behavior aide assignments require overnight sessions, that will require the service provider to be alert and aware of the child/youth at all times during service provision. As a result, service provider will need to monitor/observe client during entire session and document observation on progress note in one hour increments.
Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Human Services Field; with at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of child protective services. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and writing skills.
Counties: Rockdale, Henry, DeKalb, Fulton, Clayton, Gwinnett and other metro Atlanta area
Hours: Non-traditional work hours – evenings from 5pm to morning (Depends on the needs of the client)
Weekends: Friday 5pm until Monday morning
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
