Academy High is an independent, non-sectarian, non-profit college preparatory day school serving students in grades 9-12. Founded in 2017, the school has grown each year and now serves a dynamic, engaged community of 40 learners. Our mission is to inspire students to discover and pursue their passions, become exceptionally well-educated both academically and personally, and lead lives of excellence, purpose, and joy.
We seek a full-time Social Studies Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. This position can be scaled to be part-time for the right candidate. This is an annually contracted position that is slated to begin July 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a four year sequence of social studies courses.
- Teach Humanities electives based on expertise and interest.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere where students are encouraged to explore ideas, take risks, and build the skills necessary for problem-solving and independent thinking.
- Collaborate closely with school administration to continuously improve curriculum design and teaching strategies, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through timely, meaningful, growth-oriented feedback.
- Work outside of class hours with students, offering additional support through office hours.
- Participate in essential school activities such as faculty meetings, student-parent-teacher conferences, student advising, club or student group sponsorship, and support of school functions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Political Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least one year of teaching experience in a middle school, high school, or college setting.

- Ability to integrate technology and active learning strategies into the classroom.
- Commitment to professional growth and contributing to a collaborative, innovative faculty culture.
- Interest in supporting students academically and personally through advising and extracurricular involvement.

Compensation and Benefits:
Academy High's compensation is based on years of experience and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
