Summary of Position
The Academy is seeking a full-time, highly qualified Transitional Kindergarten Classroom Teacher committed to serving a diverse student body and delivering high quality, inclusive instruction for the 25-26 School Year.
Our Classroom Teachers work as part of a dynamic team that includes close collaboration with other teachers, the academic dean, and Transitional Kindergarten Aide to deliver strong academic instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and restorative practices of the school.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Observe and maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Participate in department / grade-level / special education, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding
student progress and student needs.

It's critical that students and families be provided with authentic learning experiences and opportunities to connect to each other outside of the regular school day (Such as literacy nights, student exhibitions, etc.).
We anticipate that teachers will need to attend only 1 or 2 of these types of events throughout the course of the year. On rare occasions, a teacher may be asked to attend a third event.
Teachers will be provided the time and resources to effectively prepare for these events during the school day, and in most cases, will receive compensation (at the evening rate) for participation. In addition, teachers will be notified long before the event, and in many cases will be able to select the event option.
