Apply here for your next career!Federal Work Study Graphics Designer will assist the Game Department manager with any department graphics need, and support with daily administrative operations within the Game Department to include supporting students, faculty and administrative functions.This Federal Work Study position will support the department by developing visual concepts to showcase various department events, notifications, info graphics, class announcements, etc for both print and digital medians. The position will also be involved in the behind the scenes of the Department administrative tasks, as well as assisting students or faculty. Lastly, this position will complement and reinforce a Federal Work Study student's educational program or vocational goals by providing opportunities for the Graphics Designer to increase their skills with exposure to creating visual concepts, customer service skills, and administrative skills.Responsibilities : Create and update Department Posters / / Signs / Info Graphics as neededGreet any walk-in student or faculty questionsResponding to reception emails from students and instructors to support with calendar scheduling for students / staff and any questions that come in.Update various department spreadsheets for tracking various department curriculum updates, semester projects or other as neededPut up / update signage, displays and exhibits, when needed (ex. Spring Show). Cutting / hanging artwork as needed - such as during Spring Show periods.Facilities support to keeping 8th floor exhibition ready- checking the building for maintenance issues, outdated and / or damaged signs, damaged flyers, trash, etc.Qualifications : Have successfully completed at least 2 semesters of classesMust upload / submit resume and portfolio of your graphic design skill set.Basic computer skillsProficiency with PhotoshopExcellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasksStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-taskAttention to detail and self-motivation and initiative to problem solvingAble to work effectively independently and in team-based settingsHave a friendly and professional demeanor.Be team-oriented and solutions-oriented.Excellent written, verbal, communication and customer service skillsRequired Major(s) : Graphic Design or UI UX requiredRequired Academic Year : Sophomore or above is requiredLocation : 180 New MontgomeryReports to : Celine Piña, Department Manager, School of Game Development and the School of MusicPay Rate : $18.67 per hourWork Schedule : Up to 20 hrs / week
