Established in 1981 The Academy of Canine Behavior is a Veteran owned and operated full service boarding and behavioral training facility, that has been operating and serving the needs of the canine community in Washington longer than anyone! Our philosophy is “Teaching Dogs, to live with People,” because sharing your home with a dog should be one of life’s richer experiences. We are committed to keeping the human-canine relationship of love and companionship a happy one. In order to successfully fit into a home, dogs must learn the rules required to live and succeed in our ‘human’ world. Likewise, People must learn how to communicate those rules and expectations clearly to their dog. At the Academy of Canine Behavior, we specialize in the enrichment of this unique relationship between people and their dogs. Our training program and methods are time tested and proven to outlast. That is the reason we have successfully saved dogs that no one else would even consider working with, and Animal control came to ask us for advice on how to handle tough dogs. We know from experience and education what works, our Management alone has over 120years of combined experience!! Those who can rise to the challenge will benefit from gaining truly unique opportunities and experience. From maintenance, receptionist, to kennel techs, and behaviorists every staff member plays a vital role in the work we do. We even offer staff members the opportunity of a paid Trainer apprenticeship after they prove themselves in their department.
We are now accepting applications from motivated hard-working individuals who are comfortable working with and around a wider range of breeds and temperaments than most boarding facilities can handle.
