Position Title: Part-Time School Librarian

Compensation Structure: Hourly

Compensation Rate: Rate of $25-$32/hr, based on experience

Schedule: Ideally 11:30 - 4:30 PM daily (flexible for the right candidate)

About the Position

APR is seeking a dedicated and organized Part-Time School Librarian to support students and staff in accessing and utilizing library resources. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fostering a love of reading and ensuring an engaging, well-organized library environment.

Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily library operations, including book organization, shelving, and cataloging materials.
• Support students in finding and selecting books appropriate for their reading levels and interests.
• Maintain a welcoming and orderly library space.
• Organize and promote literacy initiatives, book clubs, or reading challenges.
• Ensure proper care and inventory of library materials.
• Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum and library needs.

The ideal candidate has:

• Demonstrated belief that all children can achieve their full intellectual and social potential
• Epitomizes APR’s values in all interactionsPrior experience in a school library or similar setting is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable using library management software or willingness to learn.
• Assist students with research, using the resources available in the library.
• Passion for literature and supporting student learning.
• Ability to work independently and manage a structured environment.
