Are you an adventurous, energetic, and creative individual who loves the outdoors and working with kids? We are seeking an Outdoor Education Teacher to lead children ages 6-9 in exploring the natural world through hands-on discovery, science, and ecology-based learning. For five years, this program has inspired curiosity and a love for nature in young learners while showcasing the beauty and diversity of Fremont County through exciting field trips and outdoor education.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement a provided curriculum focusing on ecology and the study of the natural world.
- Plan and lead outdoor lessons that encourage curiosity and hands-on exploration.
- Organize and supervise engaging field trips to explore Fremont County's unique environments.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where children feel encouraged to discover and learn.
- Maintain high safety standards for all outdoor activities.
- Hike moderate distances with a backpack.
- Drive a 15-passenger van safely to transport children to field trip locations.
Qualifications
- Solid knowledge and passion for the natural world, ecology, and outdoor education.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and fostering their love of science and nature.
- Flexibility and adaptability to support outdoor learning and discovery.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain before the start date).
- Clean driving record and ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
Position Details
- Start Date: June 2nd
- End Date: August 15th (off the week of July 4th)
- Pay: $4,000 per month
- Location: Fremont County, Wyoming
