Provides dynamic leadership in the school by creating educational options which lead to academic growth and achievement for all students through a thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, supervision and evaluation, staff professional learning, community engagement, and positive school culture; implements a student-focused vision and collaborative leadership style to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.

  • Manages student discipline in a consistent manner and provides follow-up information to staff and parents/guardians
  • Plans and coordinates transportation needs with the Transportation Department
  • Reports to appropriate district level supervisors/administrators regarding the needs of the school/program with respect to curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff, budget/resources, facilities, etc.
  • Stays current with educational trends, research, and best practices
  • Strives to improve the professional by collaborating with colleagues, school district leadership and other stakeholders to drive the development and successful implementation of initiatives are consistent with federal and state laws, school district and board policies
  • Supervises and evaluates all curricular and extracurricular activities and programs
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring that all students are progressing toward post-secondary and workforce readiness standards to be mastered by high school graduation; prepares students for success by ensuring mastery of all Colorado Academic Standards, including 21st Century skills
  • Takes responsibility for facilitating the preparation of students with the skills, dispositions and attitudes necessary for success in work and post-secondary education, including democratic and civic participation
  • Uses evidence and data to evaluate the performance and practices of the school, in order to continually improve attainment of Student Academic Growth; takes responsibility and devises an intentional plan for ensuring that staff is knowledgeable in how to utilize evidence and data to inform instructional decision making to maximize the educational opportunities and instructional program for every child
