Team Sports Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Sporting Goods Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports and outdoor activities, along with strong customer service skills. This role involves assisting customers with their sporting goods needs, providing product demonstrations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. As a Sporting Goods Associate, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and maintaining the store's overall appearance.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance in locating products
• Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits
• Manage cash handling processes accurately, including transactions at the POS system
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and inventory levels
• Assist in merchandising and organizing displays to attract customers
• Supervise junior staff members as needed, ensuring adherence to store policies
• Perform basic math calculations for retail transactions and inventory management
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred
• Strong basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Excellent phone etiquette for customer communication
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations
• Ability to demonstrate products effectively to customers
• Experience in supervising or training staff is a plus
• A passion for sports and outdoor activities is highly desirable
