What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Coordinator position at Acadia Behavioral Health (Pioneer Behavioral Health)?
Employment Type: Full-Time
Primarily responsible for the admission and/or registration of patients into the facility and maintaining communication between the organization and the patient referrals and family.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
- Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.
- Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
- Schedule assessments.
- Conduct pre-admission assessments.
- Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.
- Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission.
- Coordinate with referral sources.
- Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients.
- Responsible for maintaining all the documentation involved with the admissions process.
- Conduct admissions to the program with admitting clients
- Organize and construct admission packets for upcoming admitting clients
- Gather and relay benefit check information for possible incoming admissions
Job Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED Required. College degree strongly preferred
- Previous experience, at least 1 year required, preferably in mental health or substance abuse field
- Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC), Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) strongly preferred.
- First Aid/CPR Required
