What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Assessment Professional - IEP Coordinator - Pontotoc Day Treatment position at Acadia Behavioral Health (Pioneer Behavioral Health)?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Complete all data for education department on admission including education admission note.
- Consult with public school district as needed concerning student’s history and educational information.
- Complete all comprehensive assessments in a timely manner ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Complete all behavior logs for all students eligible for EmD ruling.
- Participate in all relevant IEP meetings.
- Send out justification reports on all school-placed students yearly. Complete Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) education evaluations. Complete achievement tests if necessary.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field providing diagnostic and evaluation of Special Education needs required.
- Two or more years’ experience in area of child/adolescent residential treatment or teaching experience in the special education field required.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a valid teaching certificate in the area of Special Education or equivalent experience in the diagnostic and evaluation process areas of Special Education
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
