Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Implement a social services program in conjunction with the Director of Social Work which meets the social and emotional needs of patients, adhering to state, federal, and corporate guidelines.
- Act as a patient advocate and educate staff on patient rights.
- Ensure timely and appropriate charting.
- Assist patients and families with education, financial planning, and liaising with community agencies.
- Assists in the recruiting, training, evaluation of the social services staff.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
- Communicate and function effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and implement social work programs and services to meet community needs.
- Provide leadership and supervision to social work staff.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with organizations and stakeholders to address social issues and promote social justice.
- Contributes in managing the administrative aspects of services including budgeting and resource allocation
- Provides input on the development of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Participates in training and professional development opportunities to social work staff.
- May assist in fundraising and grant writing activities to secure funding for social work programs and services.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in social work or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social work, with at least 1 years in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of social work policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Licensure or certification for counseling, as may be required by the state in which the facility operates.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
