As a Trainee, you will engage in an accelerated EMR class held Monday to Friday for 10 days, where you will receive comprehensive training. If selected, you will become a full-time employee during the training period, with Acadian covering your tuition, books, and fees. In return, you will commit to work as an EMR for one year after successfully completing the course and passing the certification exam.
Highlights of the training program include :
- A fast-paced curriculum taught Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Duration of the class is approximately 10 days.
- Location to be determined.
- Employment as a trainee is contingent upon successful drug screening, background checks, motor vehicle evaluations, and a physical lift test.
- You will need to obtain a Louisiana Class D chauffeur's driver's license to work as an EMR.
- The course is funded by Acadian Ambulance, with a commitment to work as an EMR for one year after course completion. Charges may apply if you do not complete the class.
- Enjoy full-time employee status with benefits and earn $11 per hour while in class. If you don't pass the course, employment will conclude immediately.
- Upon successful completion of the course, advance to Emergency Medical Responder with a pay increase to $13.50 per hour, with ample overtime opportunities available.
