Emergency Medical Technician

Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to provide essential pre-hospital basic life support care and timely transportation for the sick and injured. You will operate in accordance with local, state, national, and organizational standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities : You will be responsible for the following duties :

• Conduct thorough examinations of patients to identify signs of illness or injury.
• Administer prompt basic life support within your certification limits and approved protocols.
• Ensure safe handling and transport of patients to medical facilities.
• Document all patient interactions and treatments in EMS run reports, recording necessary patient information.
• Maintain unit inventory and regularly test equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• After each transport, prepare the ambulance and equipment for the next service.
• Handle necessary repairs by reporting issues to maintenance personnel.
• Drive the ambulance safely and efficiently, adhering to all driving guidelines.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Complete all assigned cleaning and maintenance duties for the ambulance and station.
• Support and mentor EMT-Basic students and new employees as a Field Training Officer.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or GED.
• National and / or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic.
• Current CPR certification from an accredited organization.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Familiarity with company protocols and operational policies.
• Capability to drive large vehicles under various conditions.

Training :

• Complete orientation to job requirements.

Reports To : EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager, Vice President of Operations.
