As a Trainee, you will participate in our accelerated EMR training program, which runs Monday through Friday for 10 days. This program offers you the opportunity to become a full-time employee at Acadian Ambulance Service, with tuition, books, and fees covered. In return, you agree to work with us as an Emergency Medical Responder for at least one year after successfully completing the class and certification exam.
Key details of the training program include :
- A dynamic accelerated curriculum taught Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM.
- Classes commence monthly and last approximately 10 days.
- Location to be determined.
- Employment as a trainee is contingent on a satisfactory drug screen, background check, motor vehicle check, and physical lift test.
- You will need to obtain a Louisiana class D chauffeur's driver's license to continue working as an EMR.
- The training course is free of charge, provided you commit to working as an EMR for a year after certification. If you do not complete the class, you will be responsible for the course charges.
- As a Trainee, you will earn $11 per hour while in class, with full-time employee benefits. If you do not pass the course, your employment will end immediately.
- Upon successful completion of the course, your pay will increase to $13.50 per hour, with the option for overtime available.
