Job Summary
The Offshore Rigger Foreman is responsible for supervising rigging operations and personnel offshore. This role requires extensive offshore experience, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of rigging standards, safety procedures, and fabrication techniques. The Foreman ensures accurate execution of tasks, coordinates crew activities, and acts as the primary liaison between field personnel and project management. This role includes responsibility for quality, productivity, and safety on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct all offshore rigging personnel and daily activities.
- Ensure proper rigging techniques and procedures are followed during lifting, hoisting, and positioning tasks.
- Coordinate with Offshore Riggers to ensure materials and equipment are available for each task.
- Interpret and explain project plans, ISOs, and blueprints to team members.
- Monitor all rigging operations to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and ensure Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) is conducted for each task.
- Inspect rigging gear and lifting equipment for defects or damage before use.
- Oversee equipment movement and assist with the installation and removal of structural and piping components.
- Ensure accurate documentation of completed work, measurements, and inspections.
- Maintain and promote a clean and safe work area.
- Coordinate with project management, welders, fitters, and other crews for efficient workflow.
- Provide coaching and guidance to crew members, including performance feedback.
- Ensure proper tagging of all fabricated or installed items with job number, customer name, and piece number.
- Respond to and report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to HSE personnel immediately.
- Work in elevated and confined spaces, and perform rope access duties when necessary.
- Assist with rigging plans and lifting strategies based on job requirements.
- Lead by example and uphold professionalism while representing ACI offshore.
What You Need to Know
- Preferably 5 years of offshore rigging experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Minimum of 2 years recent offshore construction experience required.
- Most recent offshore experience within the last 4 years.
- Strong understanding of rigging and lifting standards in offshore environments.
- Ability to read and interpret ISOs and blueprints.
- Familiarity with emergency response, escape procedures, and offshore water survival.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
