Safety Management Systems, a division of Acadian Companies, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of HSE Consultant in Chalmette, La.
Position Overview : As an HSE Consultant, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing HSE policies and practices in various locations, primarily focusing on Chalmette and areas throughout Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
You will collaborate with teams to foster an environment of safety and compliance while driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Key Responsibilities : - Conduct thorough site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and compliance gaps.
- Develop and implement HSE management plans, policies, and training programs for diverse work environments. - Collaborate with project teams to address safety concerns and promote HSE best practices.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry standards to ensure compliance across all locations. - Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommendations, and action plans for leadership and project managers.
- Lead HSE training sessions and workshops to enhance awareness and skills among employees and contractors. - Travel to project sites within Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee as needed.
Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. - A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental consulting, preferably in construction, industrial, O&G, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal environmental guidelines. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and training.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. - Relevant certifications (e.g.
NEBOSH, CSP, or equivalent) is preferred.
