What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting and Finance Internship position at Acadiana Cane Cutters?
Acadiana Cane Cutters is a summer collegiate baseball team which has been part of the Texas Collegiate League for 14 years.
It is the hope of this organization that college students and recent graduates are equipped with the necessary tools to begin or continue their career in sports. Our goal is for those who participate in our internship program to understand the duties and responsibilities that come with maintaining a sports organization.
The Cane Cutters organization is looking for two (2) candidates for the role of Accounting and Finance Interns. These interns will work directly with club owner Sandra Chalmers managing sales within the box office of Fabacher Field.
Requirements include but are not limited to the following
- Gaining experience in the Quickbooks software
- Understanding ticket sales, online sales, as well as the concession POS system
- Posting Accounts Payable and Inventory Purchases
- Checking Purchases
- Daily Sales Recording
- Reconciling and analyzing product cost and profitability
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently graduated in Accounting, Business Administration or a similar field of study is preferred
- Able to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Self Starter who is trustworthy and reliable
- Able to work in a collaborative environment
- Must be willing and able to work all 24 Cane Cutter home games for the 2025 season as well as a maximum of 3 playoff games
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends

End Date: August 6th, 2025
