Acara Solutions, one of the country's largest advanced manufacturing staffing services firms, is helping our national aerospace / defense manufacturing client find a Director of Operations for their Los Angeles, CA plant. The targeted salary range is $130K - $160K.
The Operations Director is accountable for achieving the People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets through the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model. This role is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence across their Value Streams, in line with the plant objectives. The Operations Director is accountable for creating a "great place to work" through developing first class leaders and driving a culture of continuous improvement, safe working and open dialogue.
- Leading and developing the manufacturing Teams in the delivery of People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets, meeting customer and stakeholder commitments
- Contributing to the site strategy as part of the site Leadership Team, and ensuring its execution across their Value Streams
- Holding the site's functional leadership accountable for deploying the Global standards and enabling the production teams to meet their targets
- Ensuring the disciplined execution of Daily Management through the conscientious adherence to Leader Standard Work
- Complying with all legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring that staff are aware of the policies and their individual responsibilities and accountabilities :

Required Skills / Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree (ideally in manufacturing or industrial engineering, operations management or supply chain)
Min 12 years of manufacturing plant operations experience (ideally within the aerospace, defense, or medical device industry)
Min 7 years of manufacturing operations management / leadership experience, including supply chain,
Including :
Min 5 years of experience working with ERP systems and inventory management
Min 5 years of experience within a highly regulated industry with a strong regulatory compliance comfort level
This is an ITAR compliant plant - U.S. persons required.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications :
MBA or Master's degree
Knowledge of government contracting process
Lean Six Sigma training / belt(s)
Electronics manufacturing
