Embedded Software Development Engineer (Avionics)

Acara Solutions has been providing our staffing services to aerospace firms national for over 65 years. Our Prescott, AZ aerospace manufacturer has a Software Development Engineer opening. This is a salaried direct onsite position with them. Their salary target is $130K, with possible flexibility up to $145K.This is a mid-level position requiring aerospace or audio product experience, including work with DO-178B / C software certification standards. Prefer candidates from small to mid-sized firms since their employees wear multiple hats (working all aspects of product in most cases).The Software Engineer designs and implements real-time embedded software for company products, including software defined radios, navigation & communication radios, airborne servers, audio products and other similar products. This includes software design, coding, debugging, test and verification, documentation, and support of certification activities. It may include development of low-level drivers and real time embedded applications. It may also include development of customer facing application software used to configure company's avionics products. Reports to the Software Design Engineering Manager.Required Skills / Qualifications : BSCS, BSEE, or other applicable engineering degree

• Min 5 years of software engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience within an aerospace organization or 2 years of radio / audio product software development experience.
• In addition to the min 5 years of the above experience, the candidate should have the majority of the following : - Basic knowledge of Architecture / Design / Development of Real Time embedded software- Basic knowledge of design assurance level partitioning for safety critical systems- Proficient knowledge of real time operating system (RTOS)- Proficient knowledge of microcontroller / microprocessor - Proficient knowledge in development of PC applications - Proficient knowledge in development of Real Time embedded software - Proficient knowledge in development of device driver software- Proficient knowledge in software verification- Experience with C / C / C#- Experience with DO-178B / C-Experience with Python and other scripting languagesThis is an ITAR facility, (Green Card ok)Preferred Skills / Qualifications : 5 years of avionics electronics development experienceExperience with Software Defined Radio and Audio product developmentExpertise with Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, In-Circuit Emulators, J-TAG debuggersMS Windows Application development experience in C# / Forms / WPFExperience with LinuxAleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
