JOB TITLE: Donation Pickup Driver
EMPLOYER: American Council of the Blind (ACB) Enterprises and Services
REPORTS TO: Store Manager
SUMMARY:
We are looking to add a second donation driver to help with afternoon and Saturday donation pick-ups. The position is 20 hours a week and Saturdays are required. We are flexible with the other days but are mainly looking for afternoon availability during the week. In addition to driving our store box truck, this person is responsible for loading and unloading donations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific Duties:
- Loading and unloading of trucks.
- Operates bailing machines, forklifts, walk behinds, compactors, and other machines as required in proper, safe, and efficient manner.
- Cleaning and organizing backroom.
- Renders polite, responsive, and courteous service to donors, buyers and other ACBES employees.
- Outside/inside building maintenance (mowing lawn, sweeping parking lot, cleaning the facility, change light bulbs, clean windows, etc.)
- Assist with home pickups when requested.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Follows company policies and safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities:
- Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with and among store employees.
- Must interact cordially and productively with donors, customers, and ACBES employees.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- Ability to engage in prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 1 year previous experience.
· Valid driver’s license required.
- Traffic laws/ DOT regulations/ driving knowledge
