What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Area position at ACBJ?
The digital editor coaches reporters, edits daily news copy, curates our morning and afternoon newsletters, posts national ACBJ content that is relative to metro Atlanta, launches breaking and exclusive news blasts, and curates social media posts. This individual writes news items when necessary. This person must adjust news-content plans on the fly, based on daily local news developments and dominant themes in the national news that can be localized. The digital editor is in charge of the daily story log and often tasked with leading morning news meetings with staff.
Requirements:- Five years of online editing experience preferred but will consider new editors with strong newswriting background.
- The job requires someone who is a thorough editor, wise coach and eager collaborator; can make quick decisions; and communicates well with editors and reporters in verbal and written form.
- Technical requirements: Proficiency in using MS Office Products, standard content management systems as well as LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
