What you will be doing... Your IMPACT
- Safely operate crane, workboat, and other equipment (forklift, skid steers, bobcat, etc.).
- Maintain fleet, equipment, and workboat vessel inspection logs.
- Safely operate work boat and apply USCG Rules of the Road navigation.
- Determine load weights and check against lifting capacities of crane/equipment to prevent overload.
- Inspect all equipment, crane mechanisms and lifting accessories before use to prevent malfunctions and damage.
- Communicate with Team Members through use of radio and hand signals.
- Serves as safety leader for worksite and coaches Team Members on best practices.
- Lead Team Members in the repair of barges.
What we are looking for...
You will need to have:
- 4 years' experience in barge repair
- 3 years' experience in crane operation
- Knowledge of OSHA Regulations, and ANSI Standards in crane safety/operations.
- Ability to obtain FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work additional hours/weekends to meet deadlines.
Credentials:
- Must be 18 years or older and able to complete a Health Questionnaire and pass a physical abilities test.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Shipyard Competent Person Training Certificate (required)
Availability:
- Ability to work a 4/10 Work Schedule (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Must be available for On-Call support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED. (preferred)
