ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT
***PAY RANGE - $20-21.50HR (DOE) ***

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The ACC Care Center Activity Assistant is responsible for the safe operation, transportation for outing destinations and joy rides, and the safe delivery of residents to and from assigned designations. This is an hourly (non-exempt) position. This position reports to the Activity Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Assists the Activity Director in planning, organizing and implementing various activity programs.
- Meets the residents' needs and interests, per resident abilities / physical limitations.
- Participates in residents’ Care Plan; documents residents’ specific needs; documents activities attendance.
- Sets up and operates various electronic equipment such as microphones, keyboards, TV monitors, projection systems, etc., in an appropriate manner; maintains systems & provides preventative maintenance as appropriate.
- Works with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of activities programs.
- Arranges Resident Outings and Joy Rides.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma / GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field and/or one-year combined experience in skilled nursing or related health care field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; bi-lingual preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Medical terminology, health care facilities, knowledge of geriatrics and knowledge of state and federal regulations including Title XXII and OBRA preferred.
- Work schedule is Sunday-Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm with some exceptions; must be adaptable to a changing schedule per department needs; must be able to work holidays, some evenings and weekends.
- Licensed driver with a clean driving record and the ability to drive company vehicle for outings.
- Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-placement physical exam.
Salary : $20 - $22
