Position Overview
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT’s) monitor and assist adolescent clients in the residential milieu, lead activities designed to help the residents adjust to living in a community setting and assist the residents in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder. BHT’s play an integral role in the day-to-day function of the clients’ experience.
Schedule
- 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) with every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required
- Days: 6am-2:30pm, 8am-4:30pm
- Evenings: 2-10:30pm or 4pm-12:30am
- Combination of both Day and Evening shifts
How BHT’s Empower Recovery
- Partners with the multi-disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions, supporting or assisting clients in programming
- Participates in therapeutic meals and snacks and provides support during structured outings and recreation
- Available to engage, challenge, and support residents as needed. Reports observations and documents in charts
- Monitors and supports bathroom use per client treatment direction. Monitors and documents exercise.
- Responsible for enforcing appropriate policies with residents and completing all expected tasks including hourly room-checks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required with one year of Mental health experience or
- Bachelors degree in Mental health field with 0-1 year of experience
- Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive
- Previous direct mental health experience preferred
