Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Therapist or Psychologist to provide support and guidance for individuals reentering the workforce after incarceration. In addition to providing support to individuals reentering the workforce, this person will partner closely with our career coach to address mental health barriers that may prevent individuals from sustaining consistent employment. This role is vital in helping participants build emotional resilience and develop strategies to thrive both personally and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual assessments to identify behavioral, mental health, and emotional challenges that may impact reentry success.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions and group workshops focused on workforce reintegration, stress management, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with the career coach and HR team to create individualized support plans for program participants, focusing on their unique strengths and challenges.
- Develop and deliver training for reentry staff and program partners to raise awareness about mental health needs and effective communication techniques.
- Offer ongoing support and crisis intervention for program participants as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Licensed or certified in Virginia to provide therapy services.
- 3 years of experience working with diverse populations, including those with a history of incarceration or trauma.
- Strong understanding of employment challenges faced by reentry individuals and a passion for empowering them to succeed.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
