We are seeking a driven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and manage daily production, engineering processes, and maintenance across a new facilities for a growing manufacturing company. This position plays a key role in process control, equipment specifications, tooling, and work cell layout while driving operational excellence and supporting future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Leadership: Manage and lead all daily production activities, including overseeing shifts and ensuring schedule execution, productivity, and safety standards.
- Engineering Oversight: Lead manufacturing engineering processes for both facilities, focusing on equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
- Maintenance Management: Oversee and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance for all machinery and equipment to reduce downtime.
- Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and ensure a sustainable manufacturing environment.
- Capital Equipment Planning: Lead capital equipment acquisitions and develop strategies to support future operational needs.
- KPI Management: Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, first pass yield, safety, and asset downtime to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
- 1-2 years of production management experience preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing training and certification (preferred).
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience in electrical systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Strong preventative maintenance experience and a track record of success.
- Experience in process re-layout and design for manufacturability to promote workflow and sustainability.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and previous experience leading an ISO launch is a plus.
- Leadership Skills:
- Ability to lead and support two facilities from a management philosophy.
- Experience in a low-volume, high-mix engineer-to-order environment is ideal.
- Strong sense of teamwork, servant leadership, and promotability with the ability to grow into a Senior Operations Management role within 24 months.
First-Year Objectives:
- Re-layout two manufacturing cells using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Lead 3 Kaizen events to drive process improvement and efficiency.
- Develop and implement an 18-month ISO certification plan.
- Create a 24-month manufacturing capacity plan to support future growth.
