General Summary:
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer leads complex mechanical design projects for custom packaging machinery, providing technical expertise, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement in both design and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for custom packaging systems, ensuring technical accuracy and manufacturability.
- Support sales with technical input, layout drawings, and high-level cost estimates.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on material selection, production feasibility, and process alignment.
- Provide technical support to service, aftermarket, and installation teams, including potential on-site assistance.
- Apply design-for-assembly principles to enhance ease of assembly, maintenance, and serviceability.
- Conduct engineering analyses (e.g., stress/strain, vibration, pneumatic performance) to develop and validate design solutions.
- Select components and materials in accordance with project specifications and physical constraints.
- Ensure safety compliance through risk assessments and documented verification.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead design optimization projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration to resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues.
- Maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals.
Qualifications:

- Proven leadership in mechanical design within the packaging machinery industry.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.

- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and Vault or equivalent).
- Knowledge of safety standards, duty cycle designs, and sanitary design (preferred for food packaging).

Education & Experience:
