Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Lien Process Coordinator to oversee the hospital billing lien documentation processes for Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims. This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate coordination of lien documentation and communications with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, technological proficiency, and the ability to navigate legal processes effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the lien documentation process for MVA claims with outside attorneys.
- Prepare and process certified mailings related to lien notices, patient notifications, and legal documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date notation of all lien updates, communications, and statuses within internal systems.
- Navigate state websites to obtain and verify legal documentation, including lien notices and release forms.
- Draft and send professional email correspondence to attorneys, patients, and third-party entities regarding lien status and requests for information.
- Collaborate with internal billing and legal departments to ensure lien compliance and accurate account documentation.
- Perform mail merges for bulk communications related to lien notifications and account follow-ups.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Platforms (Docs, Sheets) for document creation, data tracking, and reporting.
- Coordinate technology platforms and databases used for lien tracking and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Mail Merge functionality.
- Experience with Google Platforms including Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Ability to coordinate technology-based processes, including document management systems and online portals.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in legal or medical billing environments preferred.
- Paralegal certification is a plus but not required.
- Prior experience with lien documentation or legal documentation is beneficial.
