Math Specialist

**Job Title:** Temporary Math Specialist for Grades 5-8

**Contract Duration:** Approximately 9 weeks, leading up to STAAR testing

**Hours:** Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM - 11:00 AM (Maximum of 10 hours per week)

Or PM 3p to 6p

**Compensation:** $45 per hour (Total contract amount approximately $3,600)

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic temporary Math Tutor to support our 5th to 8th-grade students in preparation for the upcoming STAAR testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for helping students succeed.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Provide individualized and small group math tutoring sessions to students in grades 5-8.

- Assess students' math skills and identify areas for improvement.

- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.

- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to both students and parents.

- Collaborate with teachers and staff to align tutoring sessions with classroom instruction.

- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment to build students' confidence in math.

**Qualifications:**

- Strong knowledge of math concepts and curriculum for grades 5-8.

- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively with students of varying skill levels.

- A patient, encouraging, and motivating demeanor.
