Job Overview:
Performs duties in alignment with the mission & policies of Accelerated Urgent Care. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the department policies & procedures, JCAHO and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Performs scope of Full Licensed California Diagnostic X-Ray Procedures limited under the State of California Department of Health Services in X-Ray Technology and restricted by California Title 17 section 30447 exclusions: Observes principles of radiation protection while operating X-Ray equipment. Applies appropriate X-Ray exposure factors and utilizes proper positioning to ensure high quality radiographs. Provides professional and quality care to include application of exceptional customer service skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Radiology Department Director.
- Scheduling.
- Equipment Calibrations.
- Weekly IP cleaning & shield inspections.
- Assisting with new hire interviews & training.
- Meets the minimum competency requirement to perform all job functions.
- Understands the complete operations, utilization, and processes of the X-Ray Equipment.
- Responsible for showing up to work on time and clocks in/out as defined by the AUC
- Handles patients with optimal care and adheres to all radiation safety measures as outlined by Title 17/CFR 10 when performing exams.
- Adheres to strict A.L.A.R.A. Standards
- Provides the highest level of customer service to patients.
- Understands the complete functionality for using OnePacs.
- Is responsible for keeping both X-Ray Workstation & X-Ray Exam Room clean at all times.
- Assists Back Office Staff with cleaning exam rooms when not busy.
- Performs X-Ray examinations to include Chest Radiography, Extremity Radiography, Torso Skeletal Radiography, Skull Radiography, to include Gastro-Intestinal and Gastro-Urinary Radiography. Interacts with physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Assists providers with procedures and prepares paperwork as required and established by department policy.
- Understands and adheres to procedure orders requirements to include verifying orders in the medical chart and verifying patient’s identification.
- Exercise tact and sympathy in dealing with patients of all age groups from newborn to geriatrics.
- Calculate proper exposure settings, make proper use of positioning and radiation collimating devices, utilize appropriate film size, and operate equipment in the proper manner.
- Consistently interacts with the Radiology Information System and makes use of all required RIS applications/PACS.
- Communicates effectively with ancillary areas and internal staff. Demonstrates the capacity to evaluate, coordinate, and execute responsibilities under pressure situations. Takes the initiative to resolve customer problems and involves supervisors, as necessary.
- Complies with departmental policies and procedures.
- Work is performed in a medical office setting.
- Work is generally performed in an indoor, well-lighted, well-ventilated, heated, and air-conditioned environment.
- Involves sitting down for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to have face-to-face conversations with patients and staff.
- Ability to communicate verbally with an excellent comprehension of the English language.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Minimum Requirements | Qualification:
- Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) and American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) certifications,
- Licensed Radiology Technologist certification
- Proficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology including electronic recordkeeping.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a positive tone and welcoming body language.
Preferred | Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
- Understand HIPAA
- Excellent Customer Service
- Effective Communication Skills with Staff members and Patients
- Working Knowledge of the EMR Software
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Ability to Work as a Team
