AcceleratedPM is seeking an Intermediate P6 Scheduler to our gas utilities project controls team. The ideal candidate will have 5 - 8 years of scheduling experience with strong knowledge of Primavera P6. This role will be pivotal in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of gas utility projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with industry standards. The Intermediate P6 Scheduler will take on a technical leadership role, mentoring junior team members and working closely with senior management, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Location/Travel:
This role is based in the Naperville area. This is a hybrid role with a 4 days on site 1 day remote schedule.
Duties and responsibilities could include:
- Manage the development and maintenance of detailed resource loaded project schedules using Primavera P6 for gas utility construction and maintenance projects.
- Oversee the tracking of project progress, milestones, and resource allocation, ensuring schedules reflect accurate, up-to-date information.
- Manage the coordination of project schedules with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring optimal resource utilization and efficient project execution.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify critical path issues, and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure project timelines are met.
- Collaborate closely with senior management, project managers, and engineers to develop schedules that accommodate scope changes and project complexities.
- Take a leadership role in monitoring resource loading and allocation, ensuring project efficiency and adherence to agreed-upon timelines.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on schedule status, critical path analysis, resource allocation, and project risks to senior management and stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior schedulers, providing training and oversight to develop the team’s technical and project management capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or a related field.
- 5 - 8 years of experience in project scheduling and general project controls, preferably in the gas utilities or construction industry.
- High level of proficiency in Primavera P6, with extensive experience creating and managing complex project schedules.
- Good inclination towards leadership and management and ready to take the next step into leading scheduling teams and coordinating cross functional project efforts.
- Good understanding of project management principles, scheduling best practices, earned value management (EVM), and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ability to communicate complex scheduling data clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
Preferred but Not Required Skills:
- Knowledge of gas utility regulations and safety standards is highly desirable.
- Exposure to cost management and earned value analysis.
- Advanced excel skills
- Dashboard development and reporting skills
- Experience with scheduling projects involving underground utility infrastructure.
Salary: $130 – $145k / year
