Job Summary: A Welder welds and assembles metal pieces and products by using handheld welding equipment. Sets up parts for welding; uses hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures. Works from specifications, drawings, and welding symbols. Prepares and completes work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal. We are in search of a Fabricator/Welder for a fast-growing shop. This is a 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
- Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies Team Leader when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other related duties as assigned including Machine Operation.
- Perform Quality Control and process all required documentation.
- Perform Prep work and grinding.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands on experience in welding and fabrication applications: cutting, welding/brazing, drilling, marking/engraving, welding of dissimilar metals a plus.
- Proficient in welding safety, weld filler selection, weld processing parameters, fixturing.
- Familiarity and experience with metallurgy, weld joint analysis, backing gas applications.
- Strong cognitive and clear communication skills which emphasize attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to lead projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability.
- Be able to work independently and unsupervised while prioritizing tasks.
