What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Specialist position at Accelus?
Summary/Objective
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for product shipping from point of origin to point of delivery. The position typically contributes to the overall effectiveness of daily workflow via shipment of items, labeling, inventory control and tasks requested by the Distribution Manager.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
• Verify shipments against purchase orders and examine upon arrival.
• Prepare items for shipment to customers and/or return to supplier.
• Receive and audit kits.
• Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding distributors, products, deliveries, etc.
• Customer communication via e-mail giving succinct details on shipment information and providing the required information per order.
• Understand and be aware of the distribution process flow and reassign tasks as necessary to remove “bottlenecks” as throughout the facility.
• Compile data from sources such as purchase orders, field audit results, invoices, merchandise requisitions, and others to maintain accurate electronic records.
• Foster a “teamwork” environment by contributing where necessary to meet the needs of the business.
• Be flexible to assist with field auditing, either through travel or the development of reports, as necessary.
• Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations and industry standards, including without limitation ISO 13485.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
• Associate degree with 2 years of experience or 3 years’ experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excel skills are necessary.
• Self-motivated with the ability to achieve desired results with minimal supervision.
• Ability to calculate figures and percentages.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with individuals internally and external to the organization and read manuals and documents. The employee frequently is required to move about the warehouse as well as the entire facility. The employee may be required to lift up to 25 lbs. by themselves.
