Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services is seeking an Open Source Media Analyst to manage deliverables for Accenture's global business-facing sourcing and research capability providing exceptional research expertise and unique industry knowledge. The Open Source Media Analyst will be required to develop points of view which identify business opportunities for the Operating Groups and Service Lines, and deliver research primarily utilizing an extensive range of online and other research sources.
The Work:
- Create shared understanding of the relevant information environments through timely, accurate and contextual analysis of traditional and social media and audiences and communicating that analysis to decision-makers
- Understand external and internal command and national messaging priorities and focus media monitoring and analysis accordingly
- Analyze open-source material and use intelligence processes to identify, compile, collate, analyze, produce, evaluate and disseminate all-source material
- Possess situational awareness of the relevant information environments to the point strategic counsel can always be provided on command priority topics
- Confidently and effectively brief senior leaders orally and in writing
- Identify, monitor, analyze and distribute products providing clear understanding of social media trends, breaking news, media briefings, congressional hearings and speeches
- Devise creative ways to ensure monitoring and analysis is being consumed by the appropriate audiences
- Integrate with command leaders and staffs, including in subordinate and supporting organizations, to identify communication risks and opportunities
- Conduct and oversee research for topics in order to provide leaders with historical context and broad understanding of the information environment
- Provide counsel on the capabilities and efficacy of various media monitoring and analysis products
- Train personnel on media monitoring and analysis techniques and technologies
- Thrive in an agile, adaptive and challenging team atmosphere and be able to excel during travel to austere environments
- Monitor, adapt, incorporate and disseminate relevant best practices and technologies from industry and academia
Here's what you need:
- 3 years of experience providing strategic media or intelligence monitoring and analysis in support of high-level government or industry leaders
- 3 years of experience ingesting, analyzing and summarizing high volumes of metadata, public data, social media and other intelligence sources
- 3 years of using communication tools sufficient to prepare and present multimedia presentations to varied audiences; at a minimum, expertise in Microsoft applications
- Must be able to flex and adapt working hours to meet the operational requirements of a dynamic command – mission-critical support is sometimes required during extended hours and on weekends and holidays
- Ability to support the organization during command operations as required, working 12-hour daily shifts during alerts for as many as 90 days annually
Bonus points if you have:
- Knowledge of the evolving global security environment, including emerging areas of concern, asymmetric threats, and special operations capabilities, challenges and priorities
- Experience preparing busy decision-makers by managing high volumes and velocities of information to provide actionable and contextual reporting
- Experience using technology to automate the monitoring required for ingestion and analysis and the product development skills needed for sharing that analysis
- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in international relations, government, history, journalism, communications, marketing, business administration or other relevant field; or the equivalent through workplace experience
