What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Liaison position at Access 2 Admission?
Overview
Access 2 Admission is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic College Coach to be part of our expanding team. The College Coach will support students and families through all aspects of the college search and admissions process and administer college admission functions. They will also provide in-person and virtual support for students who have graduated from high school (requiring travel to college campuses throughout the United States). Pay is negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate students (grade 9 thru 12) and families about colleges, the college admissions process, testing, and admissions trends.
- Coordinate and serve as chaperone for college trips.
- Support Director in writing official school recommendations for college admissions and summer enrichment programs.
- Serve as the liaison with college admissions offices throughout the year: facilitating meetings between college representatives and students; meeting with college admissions representatives who visit campus and reviewing data specific to school decisions after the admissions season is complete.
- Work with the registrar office to maintain records on college prep students (including updating records for student information systems (eg. Naviance, PowerSchool, and GradSnap).
- Keep track of admission decisions and statistics.
- Be aware of issues and trends in college admission, higher education, and testing.
- Assist students and parents with financial aid and scholarship materials.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Implement and improve our comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that supports our alumni from high school through post-secondary education.
- Conduct coaching sessions to ensure students’ seamless transition from our programs into appropriate alumni programs.
- Provide alumni participants with personalized guidance, pertinent career and college information, and reminders about program events.
- Deliver phone-based and in-person supports for high school alumni, supporting them as they prepare for and tackle issues related to college applications, financial aid, personal statements, and other college matriculation topics.
- Develop alumni engagement workshops based on educational trends, individual student needs, and recommendations pulled from participant surveys in order to best meet the needs of alumni.
- Work with business partners and volunteers to provide interactive career-readiness opportunities for students to build their skills, explore career opportunities, and strengthen their professional networks .
- Track alumni data, including: attendance, participation, graduation rates, education progress, and job history.
