What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transitional Coach - 3rd Shift position at Access Agency?
JOB SUMMARY: In support of the ACCESS mission and purpose, the Transitional Coach coaches, and supervises activities and ensures the safety of residents of a Group Home.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a coach to residents
- Mediate and resolve conflicts when necessary.
- Aid residents in the development of life skills.
- Aid residents in meeting the objectives of their treatment plans.
- Provide behavioral support and crisis intervention as needed.
- Execute behavior support plans when necessary.
- Supervise activities and ensure safety of all residents.
- Assist clients in formulating skills to aid in their navigation of the community.
- Effectively respond to all on site emergencies.
- Support the Transitional Living Coordinators in providing cultural activities.
- Supervise resident activities.
- Perform random room checks during the overnight shifts.
- Work in conjunction with all other on-site staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED, with (2) years experience working with adolescents or an associates degree with (1) year experience working with adolescence.
- Effectively works independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Works well with a diverse group of staff.
- Must obtain (within six months of hire) and maintain the following certifications: Medication Administration, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), First Aid and CPR.
- Problem solver, solution generator.
- Current drivers license from state of residence with safe driving record. Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to transport residents to appointments as needed.
- Must obtain state mandated pre-employment fitness for duty certification including a test for tuberculosis.
- Basic computer skills.
- Communicate effectively in both the written and spoken word.
- Bilingual preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to: talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel/ reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to: stand, walk, sit and climb stairs.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Shift:part-time (30 hours, Sunday-Tuesday 11pm to 9am), Union Position
