Job Summary:
The Optician/Wellness Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the optical center, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, and promoting overall eye health and wellness with Access Care. This role involves both technical expertise in optical services and strong leadership capabilities to drive business growth and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Optical Services:
- Assist customers with frame and lens selection based on their prescription and personal preferences.
- Perform accurate measurements and fittings for eyewear.
- Provide guidance on lens types, coatings, and other optical products.
- Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of optical products and industry trends.
Wellness Management:
- Promote overall wellness services offered within the practice.
- Educate patients on the importance of eye health and preventive care.
- Collaborate with eye care professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Support wellness initiatives and participate in community outreach programs.
Leadership and Operations:
- Manage and mentor a team of opticians and support staff.
- Schedule, train, and evaluate employees to ensure high performance.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, sales, and expense management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
Customer Experience:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Optician (where applicable) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an optical or healthcare setting.

- Knowledge of optical products, services, and technology.
- Proficiency in practice management software and point-of-sale systems.
