What are the responsibilities and job description for the Westside 12 hour shifts DSP full time and part time needed IMMEDIATELY! position at Access Choice Care?
Access Choice Care is an agency dedicated to providing residential and vocational supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities.
We are looking for employees who will empower individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities in a residential setting to improve their independence and quality of life, and to help them live out the choices that they want to make! We need a team of 6-8 staff members to work this site. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ON WEEKENDS at least once per month. Shifts are 8:30a- 8:30p and 8:30p-8:30a. Part time and full time hours are available. Individual lives in the West Side of town.
A strong desire to help others is your main qualification.
Staff will assist consumers in their daily activities, as well as, plan and conduct activities out in their communities.
Staff may accompany individuals to appointments, community outings, as well as, assist with personal care and medication administration, social skills, learning, and improving their quality of life.
There is a fair amount of documentation involved, so good written communication is a must.
You must be comfortable performing a wide variety of tasks (meal preparation, housekeeping and cleaning, errand service, grocery shopping, assistance with hygiene- including showering and changing depends if needed, shopping and dealing with occasional behavioral challenges).
Requirements include:
* You must be 18 years or older
* Have a high-school diploma or equivalent GED
* Able to pass a criminal history background check
* Able to read, write and understand English for documentation purposes
* Able to attend ALL mandatory trainings and staff meetings (NO EXCEPTIONS!)
