Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Construction Estimator to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide skilled support to the construction estimators and project managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and a minimum of 3 years estimating experience in construction and MEP.
Duties and Responsibilities are as follows (but not limited to):
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for a project
- Responsible for scope, budget, and schedule development and the day-to-day management of all assigned projects.
- Conduct review meeting with Project Leads to familiarize them with the project scope, schedule and budget at various phases of development.
- Review project plans, requirements and specifications
- Estimate costs by looking at the entire project
- Present cost estimates to management
- Prepare reports detailing all of the costs going into a project
- Notice differences between estimated cost and actual cost
- Work with the engineering team to prepare proposals
- May Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned and required
- Light travel may be required for this position
- Work closely with team in any process, training, research and any other business needs.
- Support principles and needs for compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
- Being a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments and working well with administrative staff and department managers
- Building and analyze project results according to department requirements (trends, performance metrics, benchmarking)
- Support other new or ongoing projects as necessary. Including design, implementation, training and follow up as needed
- Maintain organizational initiatives for Continues Improvement
Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience estimating in construction or in a similar role.
- Troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Supervisory skills required
- Microsoft Office proficiency (word, outlook, ppt, excel)
- Ownership of instructed activities and processes. Take notes, provide follow ups, ask questions, be proactive.
- Ability to keep track of multiples schedules and tasks
- Critical Thinking and able to make decision efficiently with very little or no instructions
- Excellent time management skills
- Adhere to Access Employee Handbook and Safety Handbook.
Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.
