Job OverviewYour ResponsibilitiesThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial strategy, planning, and management of the organization. This includes overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with non-profit regulations, and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization. The CFO will provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, prepare all financial reports, and manage financial risks of the organization. Additional responsibilities include :
Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization??s mission and goals.Oversee the preparation and approval of all financial reporting materials and metrics for funders, the Board of Directors, and the organization??s leadership.Create and manage the annual budget and forecast process, including long-term financial planningProvide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business driversEnsure compliance with all applicable laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations, including IRS regulations for non-profitsMaintain appropriate internal controls and financial proceduresManage the organization??s financial risk, including overseeing insurance policies, investment strategies, and reserve funds.Liaise with auditors and ensure annual audits are conducted in a timely and efficient mannerPrepare and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts to the Board of Directors, finance committee, and other stakeholdersCommunicate the financial health of the organization to the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors, ensuring they are informed of financial trends and key performance indicatorsCollaborate with program directors and department heads to align financial management with programmatic and organizational goalsLead and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the finance teamServe as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to overall strategic planning and organizational developmentWork closely with the Senior Leadership Team to strategize and support fundraising initiativesOversee financial aspects of grant management, including budgeting, tracking, and reportingEnsure the organization??s financial operations align with donor expectations and funding requirementsOther duties as assignedWhat You NeedBachelor's degreeProficiency in financial management software and toolsExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholdersCommitment to the mission and values of the organizationAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong ethical standards and integrityWhat Makes You Stand OutMaster's degreeMinimum of 3 ?? 5 years of experience in financial management in a non-profit organization highly desiredStrong knowledge of non-profit accounting, financial management, and reporting requirementCertified Public Accountant (CPA)Competitive benefits package for full-time employees working 30 hours a week :Health insurance (up to 79% employer paid)Dental insuranceVision insurance401(k) with profit sharing and employer matchPaid time off (accrue up to 80 hours during first year of employment; increases based on tenure with agency)10 paid holidays80 hours sick time2 wellness daysStaff development and trainingPublic Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility for federal student loansEmployer paid CEU's through ReliasPerkSpot- employee discount programEmployee assistance programAdvancement opportunitiesAbout the OrganizationHillcrest Family Services is a non-profit organization that assists adults and children in need of help.
