Job Description
The Middle School Math Teacher will play a crucial role in advancing the mission and goals of The Queen City Academy Charter School by planning and facilitating learning activities that promote intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth among students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement culturally responsive math curriculum to engage students and foster critical thinking skills
- Teach fundamental middle school math concepts, including ratios and proportions, expressions and equations, and the number system
- Maintain positive relationships with students to create a supportive learning environment
- Partner with families to ensure adequate resources are available to support student learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop academic objectives and implement effective teaching techniques
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and certification as appropriate
- Certificate of Eligibility; guidance on obtaining full certification in New Jersey provided by QCACS leadership
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity, ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference, mastery of subject matter content, team player, high expectations for students, and basic understanding of child development
