Job Description
- Both physicians and CRNAs push meds.
- CRNAs place regionals only if comfortable - only epidural and spinals
- CRNAs work 4 days a week. No overnight call or weekends. Late days are on Tuesday and Thursdays
- 245 licensed beds
- 7 to 8 OR's running daily
- 4,800 annual cases
- Cases include BB - Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Endo, Urology, Outpatient, rare heads, plastics, podiatry, doing more ENT, and a few thoracic case come through occasionally, ultrasound guided blocks
- No hearts, trauma, OB or PEDs
- There is one neurosurgeon requesting MD only
- Physician Call
- 1st call working longer days as cases are being scheduled later in the afternoon
- Physicians have 1 : 5 beeper call; 10% call back at night. Not much going on after 10 pm / 11 pm (1 : 4 call for 32 weeks of the year due to PTO).
- Weekend call for physicians is Friday 7am - Monday 7am.
- 100% medically directing CRNA's (10% hands on for physicians-2 neuro surgeons require MD only)
- All anesthetics provided at one location
- Both physicians and CRNAs push meds.
- Flu Shot : Not required, TB : Yes, ACLS : Yes, BLS : Yes, PALS : No
