Responsibilities

As a part-time/substitute educational sign language interpreter, you will provide communication access to Dead/HOH students in the classroom, at extracurricular activities, and during other school-related events.

You will work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Be familiar with the NC Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and be able to interpret IEP meetings and other related meetings.

Create and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Maintain confidentiality of all student information.

Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 1 years interpreter experience required
-
Bachelor’s degree in sign language interpreting or a related field

ASL/English proficiency at the C-level or higher

Experience interpreting in a school setting

EIPA 3.5 or higher

Knowledge of the EIP process

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
