Role Summary
The Clinical Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to enhance clinical competence, professional development, and compliance with regulatory standards within Access Medical Clinic for nursing staff and front office staff. The Clinical Educator acts as a mentor, resource, and liaison for clinical staff, promoting evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care. This role includes travel to support educational initiatives across existing clinics and to assist with onboarding and training at new clinic locations.
Key Responsibilities
a. Educational Program Development
- Assess training needs through surveys, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Design and deliver evidence-based educational content, including orientation programs, competency assessments, and continuing education sessions.
- Develop interactive teaching methodologies to enhance learning.
- Lead monthly educational call to reinforce training/education.
b. Staff Development
- Mentor new and experienced nurses and front office staff, providing guidance and support for learning policies, procedures and skills.
- Collaborate with managers to address individual staff development needs.
c. Quality and Compliance
- Ensure educational programs meet accreditation, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives by integrating lessons into training.
d. Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Partner with managers, department leaders, and administration to align educational goals with organizational objectives.
e. Travel Support for Clinics
- Provide onsite training, mentorship, and support for staff at existing clinics to ensure consistency in educational standards and clinical practices.
- Assist in onboarding and staff training at new clinic locations, ensuring smooth integration of workflows and adherence to organizational policies.
- Conduct periodic visits to clinics to address training needs, assess compliance, and support quality improvement initiatives.
f. Data Analysis and Reporting
- Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, tests, and competency checks.
- Analyze outcomes to continuously improve educational programs.
- Prepare and present reports to leadership on the progress and effectiveness of educational initiatives.
Qualifications
a. Education
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or related field preferred.
b. Experience
- Preferred 1-3 years of clinical education/training experience.
- Previous experience in teaching, training, or staff development preferred.
c. Licenses and Certifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
d. Skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in using educational technologies and tools such as; Excel and Powerpoint.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address training needs.
- Leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Ability to travel frequently and adapt to diverse clinic environments.
Work Environment
- Based in a rural health clinic setting that focuses on primary, urgent care and pediatric settings.
- Significant travel to support existing and new clinic locations.
- Combination of remote office work, online classroom settings, and clinical floor engagement.
